What do we do as ASUAF Student Government?
ASUAF provides many services to UAF students such as free coffee, printing, legal services, etc. For a full list of what services we provide, check out our Student Services tab.
One of Student Government’s primary responsibilities is to represent the Student Body. ASUAF does this in several ways. The President and his/her designates serve on various boards and committees throughout UAF. The ASUAF Senate can pass resolutions voicing student concerns and stating the student body’s opinion. ASUAF conducts surveys and polls to find out what students are thinking. All of this is in an effort to make sure student’s voices are hear and are part of the decision making process. If you are interested in representing the student body in any capacity, please visit our Board Appointments tab to see what we have available.
Student Government exists in part to stand up for students and their rights in any and all capacities. For example, if a student is facing an issue regarding the Department of Residence Life, ASUAF can step in and make sure that they have access to all of the appropriate resources, advice on appropriate courses of action and recourse. The ASUAF President, in collaboration with the Student Advocacy Director, acts as the chief advocate for the entire student body.
